Situated on 235 acres (95 ha) along the Brandywine River, this historic property is the site of the gunpowder company established by E.I. du Pont in 1802. Visitors can explore restored mills, a workers' community and the ancient home and gardens of the du Pont family. Hagley's library features a collection of company records that range from 18th-century merchants to modern telecommunications businesses.
