Every Tuesday, a special group attuned to the needs of their hometown, came together in the old Georgetown Train Station on Layton Avenue.  Known as the "Historic Georgetown Association", the members of this group have been active since their association was formed back in 1992.  The main purpose for its existence was and is to promote the rebirth of Georgetown, including the renovation of blighted areas and historic buildings which they believe should be made anew, in most cases, rather than be demolished.  HGA drafted a long-range strategic plan to take the Town of Georgetown into the twenty-first century.
